DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MESH TOPOLOGY AND STAR TOPOLOGY

Mesh Topology

Star Topology

In a mesh topology each computer in the network has its own hub for itself for data exchange is done directly from one computer for its hub to another computer or its hub.

Star topology use a hub in the center only one hub so all the data exchange will go through that one hub/router to reach another computer.

It is the most expensive network from the point of view of link cost. If these are ā€˜nā€™ nodes in a network n(n-1)/2 links are required

It has minimal link cost because only (n-1) lines are required for connecting ā€˜nā€™ nodes.

In this communication the transfer is very fast between any two nodes

In this communication the transfer is not very fast between any two nodes.
