Here’s a discounted death wish drive in Japan – Economic Times

  • Today’s article is about the serious issue that Japan is facing of increasing accidents due to elderly drivers. This has led the government to find solution to this increasing problem. Japan has found out a solution which is out-of-the-box counter intuitive solution to this problem. Instead of providing Discounts in Taxi rides, they have decided to provide 15% discount to the elderly who surrender their driving license, and even to their extended families.
  • This Editorial in the Economic Times is full of satires. One of the lines is,”While the intention of the Japanese funeral home is altruistic, tapping the elderly market for their business cannot be discounted.”
